MISSION STATEMENT

'To provide an enjoyable education in the art of playing cricket to all children by
providing a safe environment in order to secure the future of cricket'

Every Saturday morning April to September, Plumtree Cricket Club with the aid of coaches and a team of volunteers provide cricket coaching and organise games for boys and girls aged 8 - 11, the children are taught the basics of cricket and how to enjoy the game.

Similar coaching and training sessions are held on Sunday mornings and weekday evenings for the remaining under 12's to under 17's age groups.

Currently we have over 150 members, 90 of whom regularly attend on Saturday mornings, this number has been increasing as we have improved our facilities. In recent years we have provided a new surface for the outdoor nets and purchased a wheel away net cage with the aid of a grant from the Nottinghamshire Community Foundation.

Plumtree Cricket Club also organise winter coaching in the nets at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground on Sunday afternoons from February to April.

COLTS TEAMS

Plumtree enter teams in the Nottingham Junior and Youth Cricket League at under 11,12,13,14 and 15 age groups. The under 17 team now plays in The Melton Times Belvoir Cricket League. The under 11 also play in the very popular 'KWIK CRICKET' tournament played throughout the summer on Sunday mornings.

Teams are also entered into the 6-aside under 13 indoor competition held at Bingham Leisure Centre during the winter months on Sunday afternoons.

CHILD PROTECTION

Plumtree Cricket Club have in place a CHILD PROTECTION POLICY , which follows the ECB guidelines. A copy of which can be obtained from Ken Bloor the club secretary.

GIRLS

Girls cricket is developing within the club with the encouraging increase in girls wishing to play the game of cricket.

Commencing with 'KWIK CRICKET' the hope is to develop cricket for girls at all age groups in order that they may have the chance to play and enjoy the game at the highest level possible.
