Thommo smashes Club Individual Batting Record!

September 5, 2010

Ben Thompson smashed the club batting record with what is believed to be Plumtree’s first double century in our 195 year history when he struck 207 not out including 26 fours and 6 sixes at the PCG this Sunday in a total of 337 for 1 against PCCC in the Newark Alliance Division 1 fixture.  Steve James also had an outstanding day, retiring when he reached 101 to get to a season total of 983 runs.

I hear it was against 10 men – I will consult the rule book to see if it will stand as a record. I think Oggy has it.

Oggy definitely has the rule book on this one, apparently he wrote it.
