Nottinghamshire Academy Charity Football Match
February 21, 2010
Plumtree member and Nottinghamshire Academy opening bowler Bobby Gamble is involved in running a charity football match as part of the Academy Community Project; the match is on Thursday 25th February at South Wolds School in Keyworth and is being played between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm.
Bobby explains “The Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club Academy has chosen to support the Akanksha Foundation as part of their community project this year. Akanksha was set up to provide education and sporting opportunity for the slum children in Mumbai, India. Each school needs only £500 to run a school for an entire year- so the money we raise really is making a difference!”
“I have chosen to run a football match at South Wolds school running from 9am until 5pm with collections taking place throughout the day. Members of the school are encouraged to bring in some money to help aid the cause (optional donations obviously). For those that do not attend South Wolds school but are interested in supporting, the school gates will be open after school hours so you can just pop in between 3.45 and 5 to help support the event.”
Members wishing to support this admirable effort should contact Bobby direct or through webmaster@plumtreecc.co.uk; let’s hope the match raises much more than it costs to buy Notts County (twice)! Further details on the supported charity can be found clicking on this link:
