Your Club Needs YOU!

The cricket season is rapidly approaching and we need to awaken the ground from it’s hibernation and prepare it for what promises to be an exciting and enjoyable season by taking part in NatWest Cricket Force.  The purpose of the Cricket Force weekend is to unite all members of the Club with the Local Community and Businesses in carrying out various works and tasks at the Cricket Ground.

Plumtree Cricket Club is involved again this year and the Cricket Force Weekend is Good Friday 2nd April, Saturday 3rd April, Sunday 4th April, and Easter Monday 5th April 2010 between 10.00am and 2.00 each day.

The list of jobs that we need to undertake is detailed below and there are a number of ways that you can support this effort:

  1. Come to the ground during the times as above – suitably dressed
  2. Giving materials (please discuss with contacts below)
  3. Making a Donation to help with the purchase of materials
  4. Makings cups of tea, coffee etc

The following works and tasks are proposed:

CRICKET FIELD

  1. Repair boundary fence as necessary – some new timber required
  2. Paint stile rails in white – paint required
  3. Remove pea gravel from parking area and store
  4. Sort out advertising boards and re-hang
  5. Carry out maintenance to nets
  6. Warning sign to be erected in field on other side of bridge
  7. Trim hedges and tidy dyke area adjacent to entrances
  8. Re-bed curbs at entrances as necessary
  9. Repair small storage shed as necessary
  10. Repair roof of main storage shed                                                          
  11. Repair and overhaul covers as necessary including new hoses
  12. Repair various benches treating or staining as necessary
  13. Fix plaque near new tree in corner
  14. Repair hand gate, stain etc. as necessary
  15. Carry out any levelling as necessary to outfield, car park area etc.
  16. Repair chicken wire to hedges and repair as necessary
  17. Refurbish as necessary practice net cage
  18. Repair drainage pipe behind nets
  19. Repair burglar alarm to main store
  20. Supply and fit security post in front of main store – post required
  21. Remove weeds and tidy slabs around pavilion
  22. Clear all rubbish – skip required

PAVILION.

  1. New door(s) required to cellar including security post – post required
  2. Check all external security lights and replace any filaments
  3. Clean barbecue
  4. Clean all gutters – ladder available – bucket and trowel required
  5. Clean all windows inside and out including sills
  6. Clean behind bar including washing glasses, shelves etc.
  7. Clean kitchen including cups, crockery, cutlery, shelves etc.
  8. Clean carpet prior to season
  9. Shower area requires cleaning and sealing
  10. Erect external barrel and cylinder store and secure to new base
  11. Bring up to date Officials board
  12. Redecorate interior as necessary
  13. Refurbish end wall with wiring for TV, new photo frames etc.
  14. Re-establish telephone line with PC and also link to TV
  15. Supply and fix new large TV – TV required
  16. Sort out equipment etc in dressing room lockers
