President’s Day to Showcase Womens Cricket

August 12, 2009

This year’s President’s Day (Bank Holiday Monday, 31st August) will be a celebration of womens cricket; it will kick-off at 10.00 AM with a round of girls’ Kwik Cricket matches and these will be followed by a full 30 over per side game starting at 2.00 PM between teams formed of Plumtree women and those from local supporting clubs including Sileby, Southwell, West Bridgford and Wollaton. The bar will be open from midday and the barbecue will be fired up from around the same time; in addition, there will be a prize raffle and the latest drawing of the 100 Club.

President Jerry Rotton says “I am delighted to be able to deidcate this day to celebrate and enjoy womens cricket at the PCG; it is an ever growing and important part of the club’s development and it promises to be a special day. I hope all club members and friends will come along and support the day and enjoy some fine cricket.”
