Kenneth Clarke Enjoys his trip to The PCG

August 17, 2009

The club was delighted to welcome local MP and sports fan the Rt. Hon. Kenneth Clarke MP a couple of weeks ago to watch our 1st XI victory over Kimberley; Mr Clarke arrived mid afternoon and stayed for a couple of hours, enjoying some refreshments from the bar and some competitive cricket.  Mr Clarke commented that “I was delighted to accept Plumtree’s invitation and visit the club; it is obviously a wonderful place to watch and play cricket and I was very impressed with the club organisation and its plans for future development.  I was pleased that Plumtree were able to secure a valuable victory and wish them all the best for the remainder of the season and beyond.”

Club Chairman Mark Oldham said he was delighted to be able to host Mr Clarke’s visit “He’s obviously a very committed cricket fan and we were very pleased that he was able to visit us; he will certainly be most welcome to visit the club again at any time, either on a formal visit or just to come and relax and watch some cricket.”
