Benter’s Bar Guest Beer Weekend

Benter’s is delighted to announce that the Guest Beer Weekend is now on and confirmed for the Bank Holiday weekend and will include the following highlights:
- Friday 28th August – early tasting session at the junior cricket evening (beer only available to parents!) along with the usual comestible delights from Scooter’s Barbecue. There will also be some fine ’swing style’ singing by club vice-president Geoff Briggs. The Bar opens at 6.00 PM.
- Saturday 29th August – 1st XI Premier League fixture against Clifton Village; come and watch some exciting cricket with the match starting at 12.30 PM and the bar opening at 12.00 noon.
- Sunday 30th August – Sunday 1st XI Newark Alliance fixture versus Caythorpe, match commences at 2.00 PM and the bar opening at the same time.
- Monday 31st August – President’s Day activities, dedicated this year to women’s cricket with a junior Kwik Cricket tournament starting at the 10.00 AM and a select 30 over match starting at 2.00 PM. Please refer to separate post for full details of the day. The Bar opens at 12.00 noon.
Magpie Brewery- Thieving Rogue (4.5%) A slightly grassy lightly hopped nose; silky smooth in the mouth with just a hint of bitterness; a dangerously drinkable golden beer.
Nottingham Brewery- Dreadnought (4.5%) Rich ruby coloured premium bitter with a well rounded fullness of malt and deep strength of hop bitterness.
Springhead Brewery- The Leveller (4.8%) Dark, smokey intense flavours with a toffee finish. Brewed in the style of Belgian Trappist ales.
Barnstormer Cider (6.5%) A true traditional farmhouse dry cider.
